Eee PC 1008HA Fever! Amazon.com Has Black In Stock

Our website traffic has been going nuts for the Asus Eee PC 1008HA over the past few days.

The original forecasts called for the initial units to be in stock starting on May 26th, tomorrow.  Our most recent data feeds from online merchants show that they have it in stock.  A quick check of their websites shows that most of them do not, yet.

Except Amazon.com.  They show that they have the black model in stock and shipping, now.

Maybe everyone else will have it in stock tomorrow.  But Amazon has it today.

Falling Netbook Prices – 5/24/09

Now that Samsung has introduced newer models, we have seen some recent pricing action on the NC10.  This an excellent netbook, and now it represents an even better value.

MSI Wind U123 With 9-Cell Battery

In our most recent poll, we asked you what netbook feature was most important to you.  You overwhelmingly voted for “Battery Life”.

Well MSI must have been listening.  They are  releasing the new U123 version of the Wind Netbook with a 9-cell battery.

Amazon is now accepting pre-orders for the 9-cell model now.  At this moment, only in blue.

I’ve added a dynamic widget below.  I’m sure that more merchant will begin offering the product and more color options will be added very soon.  The widget will automatically be updated to show the lastest information.

New Aspire One D250 In Stock and Shipping Now

In a move that would make any marketing executive proud (except those at Asus), Acer announced the North America introduction their latest Aspire One (the D250) yesterday, with stock on the shelves and shipping today.

Meanwhile, Asus (who announced their new Eee PC 1008HA last week), has still not stocked their suppliers.

Announcing Our May 2009 Netbook Giveaway

Update 6/3/09: Our order fulfillment date got moved further out.  So we opted to substitute the black model.  It is already in transit.  We will close entries on Friday, June 5, at midnight.  Random drawing over the weekend to pick the lucky winner.  The winner will be announced on Monday.

Update 5/28/09: We have changed the model that we will give away.  We have upgraded to an Asus Eee PC 1008HA (White).

Update 5/29/08: Our Asus Eee PC 1008HA is on backorder.  Enrolment stays open until it arrives.

On May 4, we told you we were going to give away a netbook during the month of May.  In that post, we asked you which netbook you wanted us to give away.  You told us you wanted Asus Eee PC 1000HE.  So we asked, “Which Color?”  And you voted for the Blue model.

So we ordered a Blue Eee PC 1000HE.  It has arrived!

Tonight we will record the unboxing.  We will post it here as quickly as we can edit it.

We will use the netbook for a short while.  Then we will publish written and video reviews of the Eee PC 1000HE.

At the end of May, we will give it away to some lucky winner.
