NewGadgets.de has just got their hands on the new Asus Eee PC 1101HA. Asus recently released the Eee PC 1005HAand Eee PC 1008HA with the 1101HA being the first 11.6 inch model for Asus.
While you look at the specs on this netbook you will see it has your typical 11.6-inch netbook build. There are features like the Intel Atom Z520 processor, 160Gb Hard Drive, Bluetooth, 6-cell battery, etc…
The biggest disappointment for me and all the other 11.6-inch netbooks is the Intel Atom Z520 processor. This is a 1.33GHz processor that performs sluggishly on netbooks.
I know price is a factor when designing netbooks, but why give me a display that supports 1366x768 when it will not play back video properly.
There is the option of the Intel Atom N270 processor which gives you 1.6GHz of processing power. If you team this up with the NVIDIA Ion chipset then you would finally be able to watch some 1080P high-definition video on a netbook.
Now that’s what I’m talking about! A netbook with a nice display that gives me the capability of watching some high-definition while I’m traveling.
The only manufacturer that has got their head on straight is Samsung. Samsung recently announced the Samsung N510 which has the Intel Atom N280 1.66GHz processor along with the NVIDIA Ion chipset.
This is why Samung is always on the top of my list when it comes to netbooks. They continuously put out quality product! Keep it up Samsung!
Anyways -- enough rambling on about my issues with the 11.6-inch models. Check out the video on the Asus Eee PC 1101HA below.
