What ever happened to the classic days when a PC was sold without an OS? Perhaps that would lower the price further and allow people to select a machine based on shear hardware.
Could you imagine, buying the Asus Eee PC 1000 HE without having to fork up a bill for XP? Perhaps the price would fall under 3 bills?
I would like to have the Asus eee 1000HE !
If you give it away please let me have it !
PS. Yeah wish for no OS, If I get it I WILL delete Windows & install eeeBuntu on it !

You must be older than me (that pretty old), because as far back as I remember, computers came with an OS.

For years, I have been purchasing computers with a Microsoft OS and immediately wiping it to install Linux.
When I recently replaced my personal netbook, I bought one with Linux pre-installed.
