Site Upgrade Complete

Posted by Tom Greer on February 4, 2009 in Site-related

Thanks to all of you who were patient while we upgraded our web site over the past several days.

Most of our activity in recent days was spent resolving issues that turned up when we tested using different browsers.  Nearly 100% of that work involved working around Internet Explorer 6 bugs.

Before I started doing this on a serious basis,  I thought that Internet Explorer was a fine browser.  But from a developer’s standpoint it is the most buggy piece of commercial code that I’ve ever seen.

The frustration is that you write code that meets all of the standards and works fine in all of the standards-compliant browsers.  Then you test it in  Internet Explorer 5 or  6 and you find that your pages don’t display correctly at all!

In any event, we think we’ve chased down and resolved all of these issues.   If you happen to see something that does not look right to you, then please let us know by recording a comment on that page.
